Valvoline Raceway alters program and urges fans to combat heat

With searing Sydney temperatures scorching the city’s West this weekend organisers of Valvoline Raceway are urging race fans, drivers, teams and officials to take precautions for tomorrow night’s 17th round of USC NSW.

Please bring or purchase and consume plenty of water and fluids, plus bring the necessary clothing including a large hat (or cap at least) and sunscreen provisions to minimize the impact of the heat wherever possible.

The racing program has been condensed and compacted slightly also to start later and consider the comfort of race drivers and safety crew.

Valvoline Raceway would also like to advise patrons to delay their attendance in the afternoon in the lead up to racing.

“It will be over 40 degrees here in the early afternoon,” says Steve Green, “so it’s in your best interests to get here later and try to avoid the worst of it.”
